3. Recap of Episode 5:

There are three dorms within the Academy, and each student is assigned to one based on their characteristics. The Adler Dorm is where Mash and Finn are given, and they both relax in the standard room and suddenly remember the Potions assignment.

Lance walks in and is surprised they haven’t done the assignment yet, and he helps them out with it. The work needs them to silence a Mandragora using a magic spell, and Lance does it quite quickly, but Finn struggles to make it stop shrieking.

With Lance’s help, Finn makes the Mandragora stop shrieking, but Mash has created his issues. Somehow aggravating it to make it grow ten times its size, the Mandragora thrashes around and screams until Mash firmly slaps it out of consciousness.

Next is cooking it while it’s asleep, and Lance performs some professional cuts and slices it up to perfection. Mash immediately says he understood and replicates the same steps. However, he ends up with a cream puff instead.

Meanwhile, another delinquent makes his way through the dorm room corridors, beating up anyone who speaks. The next day in class, they find themselves in a forest when Dot Barrett walks in, announcing that he’s the protagonist, and immediately takes issue with Mash’s popularity.

The professor shows up and announces that their objective is to exterminate some magic scorpions within the forest, and the strong ones could even be worth silver coins. As they walk through the woods, Mash gets split up from Lance and runs into Dot.

Dot breaks up a fight with other students bullying a girl and immediately gets worked up as she keeps thanking and validating him. However, it was purely a ruse to use her magic skill, the ability to make anyone remotely attracted immediately fall in love with her.

Mash is utterly invulnerable to her spell, but Dot has already fallen for her. Their conversation gets interrupted by the senior Silva, who Dot tries to fight using his explosion magic while Mash and the girl watch from the sidelines.

However, Silva’s crystal magic shields him from the explosions, and he manages to counterattack quickly. With the counterattack, he also accidentally hits Mash’s cream puff.
