Global Logistics Firms Thrive in Unrelenting Supply Chaos

The world’s No. 2 container line expects the strong ocean shipping market will continue this quarter and that global demand for all of 2022 will remain little changed from last year’s levels or possibly even decline.

Those were among the messages early Tuesday after a strong January-March period from Maersk, which raised its outlook for full-year profit, with underlying EBITDA now seen at $30 billion versus its prior guidance for $24 billion. That’s despite the Danish company cutting its outlook for growth of global container demand this year to a range of minus 1% to 1%, from 2% to 4%.
