The education sector must work with legislators to ensure that universities and researchers can get return on investment (ROI) for every research they submit, Minister of Education Yousef Bin Abdullah Al-Benyan said.
Speaking at the Sustainable Partnerships Conference, Al-Benyan said this approach will motivate researchers and universities, as well as achieve Saudi Arabia’s objectives in terms of research and innovation.
The incentive for research and development is to ensure space for freedom of thought, acceptance of risks and mistakes, in addition to integration between universities and the private sector.
Ministry of Education is working on a set of initiatives and programs that support the research and innovation system in universities, he highlighted.
